My Electrolux Ultra Active ZUA3840 only blinks error code L (or 7) when plugged in, motor won't turn on. How to fix it and is there a way to bypass all the electronics to have the motor turn on no matter what.
Sure, Disconnect the two wires going directly to the motor. Then apply line voltage directly to the motor terminals. If motor does not turn it is defective - check the brushes for wear or bad contact. If motor runs then the electronics are bogus.

Now i'd only need to know what does the blinking error code L stand for...
The products manual should tell you. If you lost the manual, check it out on the manufacturer's website.
No it doesn't why do you think I'm asking?
And there is no downloadable SERVICE MANUAL (with explanations for all error codes) on the whole internet.
Bit late for richie46 but if anyone else finds themselves on this page and with the same problem the answer is change the battery in the 'remote control' on the handle. It's a CR2032. The L stands for LOW BATTERY. Just had the same problem and a quick battery change later all is well with the world, well, the vacuum works again anyway.
