On the old type you turn the centre top to unscrew it. pull up the agitator and replace the same way

There is a clanging noise as the washer spins, and sometimes it stops spinning.

hi gretchen, if you can remove your soap dispenser ,they all come out with a little tug,may be its stuck at the back,if that doesnt work ,unplug your machine from the mains, and take the back of , there should be a breeze block on the drum, sometimes they come away ,you can just reconect it ,i hope this helps xx

Kenmore washing machine agitates slow.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

I don't think it has to do with any sort of belt instead it seems that something is stuck under agitator or the agitator needs replacement. You can view this video if you want to replace it yourself:

How do i remove the loose change trapped under the agitator ?

you'll need to remove the agitator to do that usually. fairly easy to do. the centre piece at the top unscrews (very often it will require you turning it the opposite way you would normally untighten something) remove that then lift it up. there is one other way but you need to be very lucky. some coins will react to a magnet. you may be able to get them out that way tho the whole basin is metal so not as likely.

I have something stuck under the adjatator. How

Hi, depending how old you GE washer is will determine how difficult the agitator will be to remove. However, all GE made ( hotpoint, baycrest, some kenmore, moffat, mcClary, etc. ) washer's of the past 50 yrs. or so have agitator's that are pressed onto a drive block and need to be pulled off, sometime's by hand, sometimes by a greater force, i.e. "agi-tamer" or "hammer". ( of course the hammer method will require you to by a new agitator ). The "agi-tamer is a real tool which slides under the agitator and by way of being pressurized with "cold" water ( hot will burst it ) will push the agitator up off the spline/block...don't stand over it looking down or you'll potentially get "knocked out" ha ha ! Hope that help's. At least you know it does "pull off" and it isn't bolted in place. Good luck, macmarkus :)

Washing machine GLWS1649ASO wont spin on spin cycle. motor and pulley turn, but belt doesn't move. Is it the belt?

no it will not be the belt more so it will be a bad transmission.or something stuck under the agitator i have seen drill bits and keys get stuck under the agitator and cause the transmission to stop
remover the agitator first and check it is there is nothing there the transmission needs to be replaced

I think there is a rock stuck between the wash basin. When I spin the basin by hand, I can hear the rock rattling around. I am not sure how to get it out of there.

IF YOU REMOVE THE TOP OF THE AGITATOR BY SCREWING CCW THE CAP YOU CAN THEN GET THE AGITATOR OFF AND REMOVE THE ROCK AND PUT BACK TOGETHER. NOTE: IF THIS IS AN OLDER UNIT THE AGITATOR MAY BE SEISED TO THE SHAFT IN THAT CASE LEAVE THE ROCK IN THERE. THE CHANCES OF GETTING THE AGITATOR OFF OLDER UNITS ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE

Whirlpool Calypso Topload washer Won't aggitate correctly

Possibly a belt issue take the top cover off of the agitator and remove the bolt that holds it down. There will be gears inside if any of these parts are broken this will also cause it not to agitate. Let me know
