AC equipment 18,000 BTU/HR JUST BOUGHT IN AUGUST THIS YEAR MEXICAN CATALOG NUMBER WA4111Q, IT WAS RATHER NOISY WORKING IN COOLING MODE, BUT NOW IM USING IT FOR HEATING AND THE NOISE LEVEL IS UNNACEPTABLE. I JUST CHECKED IT AND PRODUCES ALMOST 40 DB, WHICH DOESNT ALLOW ME TO SLEEP COMFORTABLE. THE EQUIPMENT ITS PERFECTABLE FIXED TO THE WALL, THE NOISE (At lower speed) COMES FROM INSIDE THE EVAPORATOR( now working as heat pump)AND IT SEEMS TO BE GENERATED BY THE FAN.PLEASE GIVE ME AN ADVISE WHAT COULD BE DONE TO SOLVE THIS MATTER. I PAYED MORE FOR THIS EQUIPMENT ( COMPARED WHITH LG OR SAMSUNG) CAUSE THE WHIRLPOOL BRAND HASBA GOOD FAME IN MEXICO, BUT SEEMS TO BE THAT ITS WRONG. THE OLD LG AC, THE SAME CAPACITY THAT I HAVE IN OTHER ROM IN MY HOUSE PRODUCES A NOISE LEVEL OF 31 DECIBELS ONLY. REGARDS I HOPE YOU CAN GIVE ME A TIP OR ANY IDEA FOR SOLVING THIS MATTER.
Peek inside the opening on the front of the inside unit. You should be able to see the blower assembly/fan blades. See if any of them blades are cracked, warped, or debris on them. If seen these minisplits mildew on those blades also, which will cause it to be off balance. If you move the fan to different speeds does the sound change? If its down that since day 1, its probably a defect. Hope this helps!

i would check the blades on the condenser fan motor and make sure they are not hitting anything if they are not, spin the fan see if the fan spin freely, it should, if it doesn't it could be the bearing in the motor are dry and going bad

I think you keep in Auto mode. If in Auto mode, you can't change fan speed. Keep in cool/heat mode and then press fan button in remote to select desired speed.

It is imposible to tell you the capacity of the unit without some kind of numbers to find out what it is. They made more than one unit 25 years ago. The numbers off the compressor may help to find the size of the unit. Please try and find some sort of model or serial number, compressor number, fan motor number something that can be cross referenced.
