Hi at the above link, you will find a myriad of people with a problem exactly the same as yours, it is a real headache, with NO real, well DIY fix, sorry, it appears that RCA will repair it for a price, so maybe it would be simply best to bite the bullet, and take it to a professional RCA servicing center, but ONLY ask for a "Quote". Now when you get this information, then you can make up your mind as to what to do, repair or replace?
As an aside here, and it is mentioned in that link i give you above, that this problem is a "Known About Issue" and in some countries they have been made to repair this issue FREE of charge to customers...
I actually haven't come across this exact type of problem with this exact type of camcorder, however, in my shop, I have seen similar repairs etc, and they can cost upwards of $200.00, so make sure you always get that quote. Further, there are a few postulated "Fixes" in that site given too, you can not do any real harm in trying any or all of them, especially the one about cleaning the "Heads & tape transport path" as described, this may just work, as may the Battery Removal/Replacement ... so good luck.

You need a cable like this. The left end goes to your laptop and the 2 cables goes into your Sony system. It's called a 3.5mm to RCA cable an you can get it at any supermarket/audio shop. You will also need to set your system to AUX/input mode.

Must be a dirt cheap part if they are willing to absorb that cost and just charge for labor/ unit is out of warranty.
May be a power supply issue and that is something worth checking if the supply is very reasonable in cost.

Did the dvd Play? if yes, Maybe you have to select in the VIDEO mode on your t.v. not in the CHANNEL Mode. Because you cannot watch video in channel stations unless otherwise you have RF tuner. or the rca plug is faulty???? Try another rca

take it to a stereo shop. there are variables you may not be aware of when hooking up speakers to an amplifier like ohms, very important!

Theres not alot you can do as most universal remotes, you cannot get into the menu to program the TV sets ot use any special audio functions. But this is an RCA universal so you should be able to get into the audio menu with it and change to nornmal audio. Also You should see if anybody you know has a RCA remote that may work for you That you can borrow to do this with
