Not enough space for music db please free 8mb

Link to the English manual:

http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/pdf/retail/Sansa_ug_Eng_m200.pdf

On page 30-31 it explains how to RESET the unit to the factory defaults. I believe that should clear your DB error. let me know, thanks.

Sansa m230

whenever i turn on my sansa m230 mp3 player, it displays the message, "not enough space for music DB, please free 8mb." And so i plug it into my friends computer and when i open the music folder on the device, its empty, even though it says that there is quite a bit of space used up. Do you have any answers?.

Sansa m230

The Music DB refers to the Music Database, or the Artist, Album, and Song info.

The error means your device is too full. It needs some free space on the device to create this information.

Connect your device to the PC and manually delete some files from it in My Computer>Device Name (m240)>MUSIC Folder.

It needs 6MB of free space, so you may need to delete several songs.

Disconnect the device from the PC, it should restart and you should be ok. If the message continues, keep deleting files until its gone,

Best of Luck.

Not enough space for music db

Your device has too much music on it.

You need at least 8MB free in order for it to build the "database".

Connect the device to your computer, delete 10 songs, then re-start the player and you should be back to normal.

Best of Luck.

No files

The device needs at least 8MB to build the Music DB (database or GUI). You need to manually delete some files from the device. You will need to connect it to the PC and open it in My Computer>Device Name>Music Folder. Delete a few songs, disconnect and restart the device. You can add to the question if you need more assistance. Best of Luck.
