You need to convert photos (and videos) into a format the Sansa can handle using the Sansa Media Converter. If you don't have the SMC, you can download the Windows version from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3IPZO6Q0
first off get the arcsoft media converter 3, then drag and drop the videos you want to get on your mp3 player into the program, after it converts it it loads them onto your mp3 player as long as its connected, this program will also allow you to download youtube videos and put them on your mp3 player too this should help a bit
Turn on MP3 player, goto settings, make sure USB Mode is set to MSC.
Connect to Computer, go to start, > my computer > double click removable disk drive > in the removable disk drive, should be a folder labeled PHOTODIR, drag all your photos to this, they have to be JPEG.
For Videos:
Its a little more difficult, I've included the link for a setup guide, at the bottom of the guide is step by step on how to do the video conversion:
okay now if you put the software that came with on your computer then all you have to do is down where it says upload video click that and go to the video first and its going to appear click download and it should do it.
Everyone - install quicktime to get the right codecs to fix the video conversion issue
everyone else:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx
