Hi all!
i got the same problem... but in my case samsung service cost was almost the same as the cost for a new camera!! :(
so i had nothing to lose and i did try to fix it by myself.....
i opened the camera, got really deep and found that what was causing that problem was a small hair stuck into the spur gears that open the lens.... it had some dust too... i cleaned it and works perfect....
id you dare to do it you really have to be very careful or youll really break your camera, i can post some photographs about how to do it and what screws to remove...
See ya!

Put ur camera in the freezer for at least 2 hours and put in a fresh pair of batteries thats what i did to mine, and guess wot? it works
Hi Everyone, I fixed my problem by sending the camera to a designated camera repair shop. They fixed my camera without erasing the pictures that I had saved on there. What savy_7 says is true, however if your problem is a lens problem no type of batteries will make the camera work. Go through the online repair process (go to the library or internet cafe if you have to), if you are within your warrenty period then the repair is free you just have to pay for postage one way. Hope this helps. God Bless. Have a Marvelous New Year with lots of pictures. the camera is a good camera when it works. Don't call customer service GO ONLINE THAT'S HOW IT WORKS. You will not get a return phone call.

I called Samsungs 800 number. Never got a live person on the other end. I got a recording requesting me to leave a message
I left a message but have not heard from Samsung yet. I hope they will return my call.............someday in my life time
I was having the same problem with my Samsunbg s630 - my daughter researched and discovered that one needs to use 2500mAH or higher rechargeable batteries to make the camera work properly (I bought the 2650 mAH rechargeables). We immediately bought this type of battery and now my camera is working just fine! Hope all of you have the same good fortune when you try this batterty,

My 630 quite and showed low battery. The lense is still out. I tried new batteries but no good. It will come on for a second and beeps three times and dies. I left the batteries in over night and the next morning the camera was very hot. I took the batteries out and that was it. The camera is only three months old and Walmart will not do anything for me. I called customer service and they said I had to solve the problem over the computer. What if I did not have one then what.
I still have no satisfaction. I am very upset.
My camera, Samsung S630, says low battery, I put fresh batteries in and it comes on for just a second then beeps and goes off, ususally leaving the lens out. Sometimes I am able to get it to come on long enough to turn it off so that the lens will go back into the off position. When I take the batteries out and try them in another devise they are completely drained.
With new batteries the camera beeps 3 times and then shuts-off
and that's it It's basically a dead camera
