No picture while watching tv, the picture just went out like a burst. then i smelled a little burning. tv won't come back on.

TV just turned off while watching it - red power light flashing now and burning smell

The flashing red light means there is a problem that cannot be fixed on it's own. there is a good chance it is shot. You may have to take it in but most likeley it will cost close what replacing it would cost.

I was watching tv and all of sudden it was a popping sound and the tv went dark.i unplugged it,and it was a little bit burning smell.

Well best case is that the bulb burnt out, replace the bulb and clean out cooling fans and hopefully it should come right back on.

Watching tv funny noise like it blew up and turned off, bad burning smell ,now turn on tv starts to power up like normal and then nothing any help much appreciated, tv is a samsung HLP5685 56' inch rear...

The smell and sound are that of a capacitor burst. If you open the back cover you will find wax around a cylindrical object. That's it. Replace it with an exactly the same item.

replace capactors on mains power board they will have raised tops and look like little batteries with white kine on one side replace with same value e.g (2000.mf 25v) make sure line is on same side take picture to help

This is very simple to repair if have burning parts smell,replaced parts that burning smell,the parts that cause by the burning smell part,make it to dies that hard to find.My sugestion replaced the DM power board,first to get power back,than go on from there.

TV wont turn on, makes buzzing noise and shuts off

I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.
