Disc tray on my playstation2 console

U need the disc to reformat the system

the noise is most likely coming from the cracked part of the disc scraping on the laser (at the worst) or another part of the disc tray (at the least). my advice would be not to EVER put that game in your console ever again.

Inspect and clean your disc Take a close look at the bottom side of your game, movie, or music disc (the side without a label or image). Are there scratches? Excessive scratches or smudges can prevent your console from reading the disc. Clean your disc Hold the disc by the edges without touching the top or bottom surfaces. Using a soft, clean, slightly damp cloth, lightly wipe from the center of the disc outward.

· Note Use ONLY water to clean the disc.

· Once the disc is clean, load the disc into your console and see if the disc plays.

If the grinding noise occurs while you have a disc inside then it could be the len rubbing against the Cd. This problem normally happens in Slim Line editions of playstation2's. If the disc is blue coated, the playstation2's lens finds it hard to read the disc. Resulting in the lens moving closer to the disc. This is avoidable, try standing up your playstation. Or avoiding Blue coated disc.

it could be that u got **** like food in your x box360 open it up and clean it out put it back to gether and try it if this dose not work tell me at [email protected] ty

the lens of the disc drive needs a check up...
