Hello,
The problem you are experiencing (not able to boot) The system can't find the hard drive, could be caused by a few things such as;
1. You have a USB flash drive plugged in (remove it)
2. A CD-ROM is in the drive (remove it).
3. The Hard drive itself has crashed and now needs to be replaced and a new operating system will need to be re-installed.

its asking for its bootup disc.
it sounds like some one has tryed putting its windows disc in but then stopd it before it was finished doing its work.
has some one tryed installing windows?????

It sounds like your laptop is overheating, hence why it speeds the fan up. I would reccomend dismantling the laptop if you are confident in doing so, clearing any dust/debris from the cooling system and putting fresh thermal paste on where applicable. Hopefully this will cure your problem. If you are not keen on taking the laptop apart I recommend taking it to your local repair store for a cooling system service.

Obviously, the update was not proper, Unless you update again you have very little chance. So update using Nokia PCSuite on your PC/laptop.

To check out whether install soft which is incompatible with 6730, if it is to uninstall it. If this way does't work, you can restore cell phone. The code is *#7370#

I would try Ebay....laptop batteries can be very expensive as you've probably noticed. I got one for my Mac very reasonably off Ebay.
