Go into your router settings and change your password from the one they give you factory which could be abc123 or something like that and change it to something that has numbers, letters, fullstops, asterisks etc

I need password to be able to lock my internet

You can find everything you need to know from here:

http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc/WRT54G

You basically setup your own security. If this is a pre-configured router and you do not know the access information, then you may need to reset the router back to factory and then configure it from scratch. While you are at it, download the latest firmware and update your router for best performance.

People are able to get online using my router how do i stop that

You will need to secure the wireless network. that means you need to put a password on the wireless network. Once you secure the wireless network, no one will be able to get online using your network.
To secure the wireless network, you will need to open the router set up page. on this page you will find all the wireless settings of the router.
Before changing any wireless settings on the router, make sure that your computer will be connected to the router.
If you do not have any computer connected to the router, then you will need to connect the computer to the router with the cable.

Lost codes

On the back of your router there is a reset button, hold it down for 3o seconds or so, this will reset the router back to factory settings, the default user name and password would be admin, note that sometimes with the belkin you only need the user name and not the password. Usually you need admin/admin though.

The default IP address to access the router when its reset is 192.168.2.1

Hope that helps
