Tried smacking the train on the concrete, didn't work. Then I smacked one side, then the other, the wheels started turning like a charm. Getting the train set up for my 3 year old grandsons visit. One happy grandma right now.

Try new batteries in the controller Be sure they are in correct. The LED light should come on when it has power. Try moving closer to the train. Usually when the red light is flickering is when there is an engine problem. But here is the Manual just in case you did not have one. Also it has a number for lionel Service in there. Good luck. =)

Hello just opened polar express ready to run freight set o gauge Transformer on solid green light lights whistle smoke work All switches to on Train won't budge Any tips Thanks

The instructions are sometimes a bit vague: for example, once switched on the train needs to sit and charge before it runs, but that is not very evident from the instructions and many folks spent some frustrating minutes wondering why the train wouldn't move.

Lionel train problems

Have you let the loco charge first? The instructions are a bit vague but the loco needs to charge before it runs. Not easily understood from the instructions and many have spent some frustrating minutes wondering why their train wouldn't move.

Peg Perego Thomas Train Track Rider

The red button on the right must be held down for anything to move. It turns the lights on, makes some train noises, then moves forward. If you don't hold the button down, nothing will happen. Note that when the train is underway, the left red button becomes a train whistle. Otherwise, when the train is not running, that left button produces music. Hope this helps.
