Three red lights . Freezing

Try this use your vacuum to suck out any dust that is in machine from front and back. Use compressed air (duster used on electronics) and spray the cd area and back area again, vacuum out. If this doesn\'t help then Call Sony PlayStation for replacement of machine.

Interesting problem. I recommend trying a reset of the video card. It's pretty easy, Sony has the instructions here.

Except for the scrambling and freezing, it sounds like an issue I had recently with my own system. Give this a try and please leave a comment on weather it worked or not.

Is there three red lights???? or a complete circle???? Three lights is the red ring of death. Four red lights or a circle is either a bad a/v cable (try a different one) or a bad hard drive....(try taking it off of the side when power is off then turn it on.).

3 red lights on the Xbox 360 is the most common error and it means "General Hardware failure. To fix this you need to stop the amount of heat that the GPU and the CPU is taking.

To do this you can use the recommended guide that has been on the market for 3 years or you can send it in.

If you stop the heat you will be fine.

i had same problem today, it had locked up during deal/no deal
unplugged it three times nothing happened, wouldn't switch on
unplugged again left it for 5 minutes
then plugged in and left alone for 15mins plus
lights flasing then evetually green light went
all ok

This is a very common problem with the xbox heading to the 3 red lights.

When someone say that his/her Xbox is having 3 red lights problem, It means it needs to be repaired. If you are using Cooler than it is not a cure but a prevention. You could have used cooler before acutally having the problem just to prevent your Xbox. Your system is headed for the dreaded red ring w/ three red rings. My system started doing the same thing just before this happend. If you have a service plan with it i would suggest returning it and getting a new one.

I tried all the there little tricks as well deleted everything off my harddrive all that good stuff i think it made mine worse. Cuz after all that i turned it back on and bam three red lights and no picture or sound.
