Question about Dryers

I have an optimus stav 3670 stereo reciever that wont turn on. I have located 3 fuses, all test good. No lights, click, or any sound or reaction when power button pushed. I'm hoping there is a 4th fuse that I can't locate. Continuity from plug end all the way to transformer. Any ideas, I hope. Thank you, Mike.

Mike, sounds as if it's not getting voltage to the remote control receiver circuit? Meaning that there is a low voltage (5volts) that sits there and waits for the signal from your remote to turn the unit on. This is also through the front power switch which is also tied to your on-off power relay. I would check for 5 volts around that. More that likely you a 5 volt regulator shot. Hope this may help?

Remove 1 wire from the element . Your 220 V comes from ...110 motor , 110 control board . Check which wire is not getting 110 V , trace it and see which it comes from . That will tell you which one is defective .

RCA Stav-3880 turn stereo on goes to full volumn

Take the batteries out of the remote control, then apply a piece of black tape over the IR sensor, Unplug the power, wait a few minutes, now power the unit back up, does the unit still have the same volume high symptom? If so, remove the tape and see if the unit responds to any other commands(other than volume) from the front panel. If it responds to the panel controls, the processor is most likely good. very seldom is the IR transistor bad, if it is no input command will work.

Is your receiver plugged directly into a wall outlet; use your voltmeter (or in absence of one, a desk lamp or some other small appliance) into each of the duplex receptacles. I have gone on service calls where the outlet was defective- where one side of the duplex receptacle had power to it, while the lower branch was dead.
Or is your receiver plugged into a power strip / surge protector?
Check to make sure that the internal breaker (if so equipped) did not "trip". I would also check each of the outlets on the strip to make sure they have power going to them too. One could be out while the rest are fine.
The reason why I say this, is you mentioned you have continuity (the potential path for electricity to complete its circuit) but you did not mention if you are getting voltage (energized) from the plug to the transformer.
Check voltage readings at the power "on-off button too- remember, a switch is just a break in the line current. That may be defective.

When I turn on the STAV-3770, after the five seconds for the inital click that is ready to go, the unit turns off and back on and keeps repeating this process.

Most of these units come with a replaceable fuse in the back (about the diameter of a penny). I believe that the unit will shut itself off if the fuse is blown. Excessive use, moisture or a power surge will blow the fuse. Radio shack may have a replacement for you to buy. I would try this first, as it is a fairly inexpensive solution. If it turns out that you have a more serious electrical problem with the unit, I would consider replacing it. The new 5.1 systems are cheaper than ever, more energy efficient and sound better to boot.

When I turn my optimus STAV-3770 on it reads poweroff and then cuts itself off..please help me

unfortunately most stereo mfgs. install a protect (shutdown) citcuit if it detects an internal short (bad amplifier )or a external short( bad speaker)....disconnectl speakers see if it still shuts down if so there is a genuine component failure inside..however if it stays on then in all likliehood its a bad speaker
