Have replaced timer/timer motor module. Not lid switch either (people point to this but the washer obviously would not get past "go" with a faulty lid switch). Timer is audible as the spin is finished and enters the rinse cycle. Then there is a light click and the timer noise stops. So the rinse water never fills the tub and the timer never advances. This happens sometimes, not all the time. And always at the same cycle point. And only on the normal cycle, even after the timer module/motor was replaced. \Maytag A211 serial# 119009BF
Check the water level sensor.
First, why would the water level sensor be the problem when the sensor works fine to allow the machine to fill perfectly to start the wash cycle (before it gets to the trouble spot at the rinse)? And, what does "check the water level sensor" mean? Use an multi meter? Where is the sensor location?
There is a tube next to the drum that measures the water level. It can get clogged with softner and debris or it is being shaken during the wash cycle
Brad... the unit drains fine at all other cycle points requiring the tube to drain. Sometimes pounding on the control panel will get the washer going (i.e. entering the rinse cycle).
The repair guide is here if you did not find it attached to the framehttp://allrepairmanuals.com/maytag-washe... The only thing that interrupts the timer is the lid switch.

This is an older top loading machine. It drains fine. It uses a two stage spin to drain the tub. Please do not refer to pump issues as all things are working fine other than the Normal Cycle getting stuck immediately after the wash/spin... right before the rinse cycle fills the tub.
