Microphone Issue I bought this Portable Headet with detachabke Mic and plug it to my laptop "Inspiron 1501" (Dell). Try to make a call through Zioper system and was able to hear the other person but the other person couldn't hear me. Try to adjust the sound but not result. Can you please assist Thank you
Try the sound settings, there may be a seperate slider for the mic. Or failing that has it got the driver software for a mic.? Sound settings should be in start,control panel,audio devices.

This model does not have a built-in mic. There is an audio input socket on the right hand side of the casing, next to the two USB sockets, where you can plug in a micophone.
Sounds like the sound card on your laptop may be bad. Your laptop may have an integrated sound card on the motherboad or a seperate sound card. As part of the motherboard you have to get a new motherboard. First check your drivers and go through the trouble shooting section.

Your jack may have been damaged, or the apple mic may not be compatible. Purchase another pc compatible mic to check. Or you could try a multimedia headset with mic that plugs into your usb port. Take a look at RadioShack for headsets, I saw one in a store near me. and they should have them online.
check your microphone settings. first, be sure it is plugged in and on. next, in skype, connect to a call. in my version (3.8.0.188) you can check you mic and speaker settings by pressing the headet icon at the lower part of the screen. i use windows default settings but try others to find one that will work. you can chat with your contact to hel ptroubleshoot the call.
