First off, some wireless G routers also support B mode. You should use your SSID to be sure you're on the right network. Lastly, this adapter will not work in a 360. This adapter is designed only for use in a Windows based PC, however, drivers have been written, unofficially, for Linux and MacOS. Linksys will not support these drivers though.

I suggest you to type all wireless settings that you have on the router manually in the wireless settings of your xbox 360.also depands on the security compatibility between your router and your adapter,i mean to say try wep and wpa.and your wireless adapter is reading your wireless router as G because it`s of G standard(adapter).try putting all wireless settings manually and it should work.
hope that will help you.

HAVE YOU DONE A VOLTAGE CHECK ON THE ADAPTER? IF NOT, READ WHAT THE VOLTAGE ADAPTER OUTPUT IS. IF THE MEASUREMENT IS DIFFERENT OR DON'T GET A READING AT ALL IT MEANS YOU HAVE AN OPEN CIRCUIT ON THE ADAPTER. MOSTLY MOST WIRES BREAK UNSEEN INSIDE THE PLASTIC INSULATOR NEAR THE PLUG END OR NEAR THE ADAPTER END, WHERE THEY BEND MOST.

You will need to match the wireless settings of your router and the gaming adapter.
Who is the manufacturer of your router?
connect your computer to the router with the cable and open the set up page of the router. check the wireless settings of the router SSID, Channel, security settings.
now you gaming adapter and the Router IP address should be in the same range. Suppose if the router IP address is 192.168.x.y and the default IP address of the gaming adapter is 192.168.a.b., then the number x should be equal to a. If it is not then you will need to change the IP address of the gaming adapter so that x will be equal to a.
after that open the set up page of the gaming adapter and change the wireless settings.
power cycle the router and the gaming adapter and now it should work.

Same issue, cannot connect to my wireless connection at home...

1.Try upgrading the firmware on your router

2.unplug your router and/or modem and plug back in see if that makes any difference

3.connect gaming adapter directly to the computer, reset gaming adapter back to factory default settings, assign a static IP address on computer, for e.g. 192.168.1.10 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 default gateway to 192.168.1.1, logon to gaming adapter's setup page and edit the the wireless settings and IP address according to wireless router or Access Point and save the settings...remove the static IP from the computer and power cycle the n/w...open or trigger 10070-10080, 6000-6999 ports on the router for PS3 and check whether it works or not.

Wireless driver can not read my wireless router

If you're having trouble with a router, it most likely has nothing to do with your laptop at all. If there is a problem with your laptop's wireless adapter, you may be able to find updated wireless drivers through the laptop manufacturer.

Please keep in mind that a wireless router and wireless adapter are completely different. The router is external and relays the signal from your modem (the internet) to your connected PCs. The adapter is in your laptop and sends/receives information from wireless routers such as yours.

Connecting wireless

Based on the category you picked I need to ask if you want to connect a wireless adapter in a computer to the one wireless router you have or do you have such a large area that you need two wireless routers to cover the space. They are two very different issues. Please add a comment to this issue if you really have two routers -- it is a different problem than the one I will describe.

Assuming the picture of the device is right and it is another wireless adapter you need to connect to the router.-- the simple answer is basically the same as the ones before which is probably not helpful now. (Assuming the wireless adapter is installed and the drivers loaded.) Then if you have an secure network (where WEP or WPA was enabled) you probably will need to connect to the specific network using your adapters manufacturer's software or Windows Wireless Zero Configuration where you will probably need to supply a network name (SSID) and the passphrase that was configured inro the router. If you have an unsecured network your adapter may work without configuration. There is one other possible issue -- most routers dynamically assign ip address and other information to the adapters. If your router was not configured to supply all information including DNS addresses we may have some additional configuration to apply to the wireless adapter.

Please respond if these steps are two complex so I can provide additional information. Please provide the manufacturer and model of the wireless router and wireless adapter if that is the case so I can provide more detailed information specific to your hardware.

Gamin adapter set up, plz help

Hi Shawn. Does yout PS2 connect when it is downstairs on the wireless? Reason I ask is wifi routers tend to transmit horizontally, and are very weak in vertical transmittions.
If you are connecting while you are own stairs, we can assume the WEP is not an issue.

WEP setting vary on different adapters. Some allow your to use 5 digits for your wep code, others require the full 10 digits. If you are using just 5, say 12345, try putting a 3 infront of each digit, i.e. 3132333435. If you are using all 10, on bought the adapters, this shouldn't be a issue.
Of course, if you can connect to while downstaris, this issue it mute.
You can also try changing channels. Channel 1 has more range than channel 8.
The last guess is that yoour router has less range than the Dlink.

See if any of those suggestions help, and let us know.

Good luck.

Hooking up my gaming router

There is a 90 % possibility that the wireless settings on the gaming adapter and the router are not the same. Try to reconfigure this again. Remember that the gaming adapter's wireless settings needs to synchronize with that of the router to make the gaming adpater works. Call netgear and verify the settings on your wireless connection and reverify the settings you have on the adapter. For manual instructions, see user guide at www.linksys.com/download
