Casio has no user manual for this calculator. All I'm trying to do is set the freakin' tax rate....why must it be so hard???
1. Switch off the calculator
2. Switch it on again
3. Press and hold the tax button (set %) until the display changes
4. Enter the new tax rate
5. Press the tax button (tax +)
Any problems contact [email protected] - he emailed the solution to me and it has worked.

How to Set Exchange & Tax Rates
Select EX mode
Press AC
Press and Hold for 5 Sec %(Set) key
Press C1 or C2 or C3 or TAX+
Enter New Rate
Press %(Set) Key
New Rate is now Saved

Programming Tax Rate
Non-printing models (also applies to HR-8TE printing calculator):
1. Press [AC]
2. Hold [SET/%] key for about 2 seconds
3. Press [TAX+]
4. Input the tax rate
5. Press [SET/%]
Printing models (except HR-8TE):
1. Have calculator in “print” mode
2. Press [CA]
3. Hold [SET/%] key for about 3 seconds
4. Input the tax rate
5. Press [TAX+]
6. Press [SET/%]
