Go onto the Mio.com website and contact section under support. Send a message with the serial number requesting the key.

Basically to take any phone or pda apart, unscrew all screws and look for hidden screws under soft objects or labels etc.

ones all screws are out, use a small flat screwdriver or a case opener tool to carefully open the case of the phone or pda. it should snap open, very likely plastic holders on the corners that keep the case closed, carefully snap them open / off, don't break them.

you probably need to reset the unit....look for a pinhole, and find something small that will fit into it, and press, this will reboot the unit....

You will have to do a "Factory Reset".

***You Will Lost All Your Data***

While you reset the device by pressing the little button on the bottom with the stylus,
Hold "UP" on the direction pad.
Keep holding for about 30 seconds.
You should then be prompted to do restore it to factory settings.

Mio P350/550 Hard Reset 1. Turn off the pocket pc (on/off button ).
2. Push the joystick button up (to the screen).
3. Turn on the pocket pc.
4. keep holding on the joystick button for 30 second.

on/off switch in "off" position for at least 30 seconds, then turn it in "on " position, power on and "reset". You'll lose all your data and all the installed programs.
Alternative: using the screen options, go to "system info", and choose "hard reset".
Beware: pushing the joystick down while doing a reset will get you a boot menu with memory-formatting options. Choose "exit".

A good idea would be to backup your data in the first place- just a hint.
