I have a TallyGenicom 2265+ Dot matrix and no matter what I try I cannot get it to print to fanfold 6.0 x 4.25 cards, it will always prints as though it were a 8 x 11 sheet, TallyGenicom support are helpfull but unable to resolve the issue. Tried custom paper size in XP and different emulations on the printer with no luck. Works great in win98 on both Genicom printers. Any help would be fantastic!!!
There may be a number of causes for the problem you are seeing. There are a number of places which may hold the origin to the page length problem you are seeing, in order of precedence these are;
I would recommend the follwoing;
If the Windows Test Pages do not print correctly I would recommend checking how you are creating the CUSTOM SIZE form, perhaps create a new form and double check the form properties one it has been saved to confirm these are correct.
The form length can be set through the menu and is normally set in lines (normaly the print size is set to 6 LPI) so the form length should be set to 33 lines
Ensure you select this form size in both PRINTER PROPERTIES and PRINTING PREFERENCES
Check you are using the correct printer driver for the printer, you should be using the 2265+ printer driver. As a test you may wish to install the GENERIC TEXT printer driver or the EPSON LQ2250 driver, these will be included in the Windows Add Printers Wizard and should print OK to the 2265+.
If the Windows Test Page prints OK I think you would need to look at the software package printing to the printer. Ensure the correct page size is selected here also, perhaps try printing from another software package selecting your custom size form to see if these print correctly.
It is passable your software package is sending escape commands to the printer to call up the page size, I note you say Genicom printers printed ok from Win 98. The 2265+ may not have the same emulations as the Genicom printers.
You can print a menu print on both Genicom (if these are available) and 2265+ and compare the settings on these.
I do not believe the 2265+ has a Genicom emulation as standard, but you may be able to load an alternative version of firmware into the 2265+ which provides the Genicom emulation. If the data going to the printer contains Genicom Escape command to set form length this may resolve the issue.
You may need to contact your TallyGenicom support department for the firmware (I think it may be called 7265+ firmware)
If you are able to provide Hex Dumps of the data to the TallyGenicom support people they should be able to say what is going wrong with the form length setting.
