OK. We are a small non profit business and have an Avaya Partner-18D 4 line phone system. We have AT&T as our carrier. We have to call a certain number to obtain our voice mail (there is just one general mailbox for all 4 phone lines). When all of our lines are busy the calls automatically go to voice mail. Now, our phone systems does not alert us when we have a new voice mail message. We are supposed to be mind readers and dial our voice mail number and enter the password to see if there are any new messages. I called AT&T about this and they blame the phone equipment carrier (which is DJJ Technologies here in New York). When I called DJJ, they said that it's an AT&T problem. I am on my wits end - we missed an important call for my boss because we forgot to check voice mail and she was not too happy. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Partner System doesnt have light notification feature if voicemail left on carrier site. I suggest you purchase small voicemail (4 mailboxes) for about $250 with installation and cancell your carrier voicemail service. You will be able to see new message light, also you can access your mailboxes remotely. It will pay for itself if carrier services cancelled within 7 or 8 month. If interested contact me vkagan at aaa-avad dot com. We are located in NY.

There is no problem. Everything is working as it should. If you have a Partner 18D phone, that is on a Partner system. A Partner system can not lite a message light. If you have a 4 line phone (this would not be a Partner 18d) then the voicemail will lite the voicemail light.
Why not get an Avaya voicemail, then you could have more than 1 mailbox????
Phone have no power and then I recieved a call, it goes straight into voice mail.
