Question about RCA RT2760 System

No Audio with home theater system

My RCA RT2760 home theater system all of a sudden stopped working. The subwoofer does not power up but the reciever has full power. Not sure what happend!

Have you tried unplugging and plugging it back in? If that doesn't work, then you might have some bad capacitors in the power supply that aren't allowing it to switch to "on."

First of all, any analog sound processor employed with a multichannel receiver will on;y function correctly for analog 2-channel sources. Second, it needs an opening in the audio path that allows it to get between the source and the amplifiers, commonly know as a Tape Monitor loop. There would be a Line Out and a corresponding selectable Line In that does not disable any other source. That way a seelcted source like FM would exit the unit, be processed, and come back IN for listening.

This receiver doesn't have that.

You COULD place the EQ between an external source and Line In if you want to Equalize one source for playback.

Yes it has to be hooked up or subwoofer will not power on when on is pressed on the subwoofer.

Power light blinks and will not power up

My RT2760 started doing that about 2 months ago, and I found the subwoofer connector on the back of the receiver is loose. If you wiggle it around, it will come back on.
