The player accepts the music download, but will not turn on. A message popped up saying the player will not turn on until the clock is set. How do I set the clock? I have tried at the rca website and connecting to the web, but nothing seems to work. How do I set the clock to allow the player to turn on?

SOURCE: Tried to download RCA EasyRip installer, says file is corrupted.

If the easyRip does not work for you. Try this download media coder. http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/index.htm 0.6.1.4.8 works for me. After you install it. Goto Extensions click it. Home players. Then mpeg maker. It will ask you to remember my choice . Click yes. And enter these settings.

Mpeg-2 2.5 mbps (svcd) 25 fps 352X288 mpeg audio 224 kbps original 1 stream
Bitrate 194.

this setting also works. Mpeg-1 2.5 mbps (svcd) 25 fps 352x288 mpeg audio 224 kbps original 1 stream Bitrate 194 ... once converted can drag and drop into opal and video will play. Its says its and mped but on opal shows up as an smf file. Works great and the video is better than the rca easyrip converstion tool. Hope this helps you alot

I have a message on my sansa clip that I want to get rid of so that I can continue to listen to my book. I can't listen till this is straightened out. It says synchronize to continue your music...

Audible books are protected, you can copy them into device, but you can't play them (...subscription...appearing ). You must use audible manager to sync audible books.
You should delete audible books that make pop up a message " synchronize to....", otherwise, your device always pops up the message when it meet the audible books.

This thing does not work always says ok to disconnect

When the mp3 player is connected to the computer, the only message it will generally give you is "OK to Disconnect" - this is normal.

Once you disconnect the mp3 player from the computer, then you can find your music, listen to music, etc.

If you are getting the "OK to Disconnect" message when the mp3 player is already disconnected from the computer:

Reset the player first.

If that fails:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

Synchronize to continue your music subscription

I ran into the same problem with my Sansa when listening to legally downloaded audio books from the local library. This is what I found:

  • " Are you sure the player is in MTP(plays for sure) mode when you transfer it? You can check by going to settings>usb mode on the player itself. I think it needs to be for you to use library files like that. " (This worked for me)
  • "are you copy and pasting the files? if so you will need to use WMP to sync the files. copy and paste might not be transferring the license." (didn't try this -- didn't need to)
Hope this helps.

I can't find the music on my go gear, yet when I try to re-download the music my windows media center says that the music is already on the device.

The songs are in the wrong format - it will accept some WMA files but not others - Windows Media Player will appear to load them but they will not actually show up on the GoGear. Convert them to Mp3, and they will load fine.

Synchronize to continue your music subscription

it's asking that you verify the DRM status (i.e., that you bought it and it resides on YOUR computer.) It cannot play the file until you synchronize it with windows media player. You can delete them off of the MP3 player just by noting which songs don't play and deleting them through windows explorer when the player is connected.

Error Message

You have to synchronize your Sansa to a computer that has a current subscription to Rhapsody, and you have to sync the Sansa to that same computer at least once every 30 days, or the Rhapsody songs will stop working. Use a different music service that is free, or convert all of the songs to Mp3 format to get around the problem. If you get a subscription to another music svc, then you must maintain a current subscription with whatever new svc you choose as well.
