I got a general Lee HP cab radio wanting to know how to do that at home

At that point if you've checked everything else throughly..like the mic, and the coax, and the antenna and the mount, and still nothing? You may possibly have a radio that needs to go to a repair shop. Actually I take back my last sentence....with a radio like the General Lee, its worth quite a bit of money, and if all obvious things are checked and still nothing I'd recommend having a local radio shop open the hood and take a look. I've had many people tell me that there are no radio shops to bring thier rigs to. So if your in the same boat I'll tell you what I told them...call you local police department or sherrifs office and ask them who does the work on their radio system....(just don't call them on the 911 line) I'm just wondering what your SWR readings were when you were using the radIo? Did you use an in line meter, or the one on the radio....cause I'm guessing your levels were high and you didn't recalibrate it and burned the primaries....sorry I don't have an easy fix answer for you....keep me posting on your progress I'm kind of curious

buy a external swr meter.. usually like 10 bucks at any truck stop.
o your gonna need a jumper wire too for this.which is a short piece of coax you can get at any cb shop
