Panasonic 53tw53 i have owned the tv of approximately 4 years, i already had the convergence problem but luckily was still under extended warranty and it was fixed. My warranty has just expired and now my tv will turn off after a couple of hours of use and wont turn on. i have to leave it off for some time and unplug it from the surge protector then it will turn on and stay on. Has anybody faced some thing similar in the past.

The Panasonic P/N is C5AA00000203... However, the Sanyo P/N is STK392-110, a common sub deflection puck used in many RPJ TVs. You can locate the later (without the larger price tag) on any number of retails sites for under $15 a piece. Do yourself a favor and change both in one shot.

Panasonic PT-53TW53; Red shadows appear and then the t.v. shuts down.

The convergence output IC's have failed. Only fix is to replace them. These are large amplifier IC's bolted to heatsinks and have a high failure rate in all projection sets.

My Panasonic has exactly the same problem. The repair man just came in and said that the convergence and resistor burned under heat and have to be replaced. Will cost $400.

How to do convergence on a PT-53WX53

Hello Yann,
Please be advised that doing the convergence in service mode is a very complicated process. This could mess up your TV even more. The best TV tech out there finds doing convergence a Headache. Doing convergence is part of the repair that most TV tech fears. Email me if you still want it. I will not post here for the general public.
