IVA-D106 Car DVD Player: no picture on screen while dvd is playing...

Im guessing that if you can hear sound but have no picture and this is newly installed that your unit is wired to your parking brake as a safety feature. You need to disconnect it and connect the wire to the radio ground to bypass it.

What color wire do i hook the pink wire to

Pink wire is generally the parking brake safety. If you dont want the dvd player to play video while in drive wire it to the ground on your parking brake sensor wire. If you do want it to play video while your driving, wire it directly back to the ground wire on your stereo.

Cannot access bluetooth menu in the Alpine iva-d106

To connect the iva-d106 with the kce-400bt you need another cable
(KWE-460V), and to connect the ipod you'll need the KCE-435IV, first you connect KCE-400bt to the IVA-D106 using the KWE-460V cable, then conect the ipod to the KCE-400bt using the KCE-435IV

Screen is blank on my Alpine IVA-D106 and menus, video etc only appear when I touch the screen. A few seconds after touching the display goes blank again.

check the screen configuration using the visual button on the top right side of the screen, you should disable the "OFF" button

How do you hook up the wire to make the dvd to play

remember it is illegal and dangerous to drive with video on in front seat.
Not sure what model, but most likely this will work. Radio Shack2_bing.gif will have parts.

If its for an Alpine there are 2 switches needed.
1. A toggle to simulate e brake
2. A momentary (push button-PB)simulate the regular brake.

Both switches should go to ground, if I recall. If not put 12 volts on PB switch.
Procedure is as follow press regular brake(PB) and hold. Turn toggle on off and on again, release PB

Let me know if you have more questions

I can't play a dvd all that happens is sound you can hear the dvd but you cant see it

Was this unit recently installed. Has it played before. Be sure that the wire to the parking break is also connected. These dvd players will not play if the brown wire is not connected to the grond side of theparking break. If you need more info, please feel free to ask.

Where does the parking brake wire hook up in order to bi-pass this option on alpine iva-c800 car audio system

based on my previous experience with the Alpine Mobile Multimedia Station, 1 wire needs to see 12 volts ie. brake light wire, the other needs to see ground ie. parking brake.

You can hook up the wire that needs 12 volts to either ignition or some other 12 volt source. The other wire needs to be connected to a toggle switch to ground. Then flip the switch as needed to simulate the parking brake and voila...
