32" toshiba 36a60 plays DVDs but not cable TV

32" Toshiba model 36A60 will play DVDs but not cable TV through the Comcast Digital Converter box. Was working just fine for quite a long time after they switched it over then suddenly the TV would just go out (turn to 'snow'). We would need to turn it off for a couple of days and then turn it on and wait for sometimes up to an hour before it would come back on. It would run just fine for couple of days and then go out all over again. However, we've been able to play DVDs whenever with no trouble at all.

Did you switch video inputs from the remote, each input has its own menu item.

No, you need a converter box if you plan to use an antenna. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

How do i connect a Blu-ray player to my TV

It should connect best to the one with blue, green, red and then the two for sound--red and white---This is component hookup.

once connected you select the input via the remote or menu..

The ones with the yellow, white and red are composite (yellow is video and color and red/white are audio---doubt it will work off blue ray unless similar outputs on that.

Toshiba 36A60 does not show signal on main antenna/signal source. Antenna 1 went out first. Video 1 and video 2 seem to be slowly losing picture. There is only snow and static instead of a picture on Ant...

The tuner module is bad and would have to be replaced, the other concern is video 1 and 2 are now becoming snowy, at this point I would suggest replacing the tv set because there are two separate issues and the cost to repair in my view would not be cost effective, cheaper in the long run to buy new tv.

Recording with comcast hd box and toshiba VCR/DVD

1st, see if you can get another cable box that offers component as well as RCA outputs on the back. Does your cable box have S Video out and does your toshiba have S Video in? If so, hook up the S Video from cable box to Toshiba. Then hook up R&W audio from Cable Box out to Toshiba In. Set the channel on the cable box to what you want to record. Set Toshiba to record channel 3 or 4, whichever your Toshiba is set on. The cable box controls the channel you are recording. You cannot set the recorder to the channel you want to record. It must be either 3 or 4. Try it. If everything else fails, you have to go cable from wall to cable in on cable box, cable out on cable box to cable in on Toshiba then either cable or RCA out on Toshiba to TV.
