If it still takes pictures, I wouldn't bother replacing anything. I assume the scratched part is not the lens. Sending it to Canon to replace those outside parts may cost more than a new camera. Doing it yourself may make things worse.

If camera flash is not working it must be the high - intensity discharge (HID )lamp of the flash assembly that got busted which needs to be replaced. Parts are available in every local camera shops and they are not that costly. So consult your nearest camera repair shop and have it replaced with a compatible HID flash lamp.

Try Ebay for camera parts. Or try to find the same camera "as is" cheap, then you can replace the part yourself and save a LOT of $.

It is very hard to order the parts for yourself. If you ask kodak they usually tell you to send it in.
They do sell some replacement parts at this site:

I have been searching for nearly six months for replacement parts for several point and shoot digital cameras with no luck at all. I think the factory updates them so often it is not cost effective to maintain parts for them.

It is possible, but I am unsure of where to get that part as a member of the general public. Nikon does sell that part, but I do not know if they restrict to whom they sell parts. Either take/send the camera to a repair facility to get the screen replaced or try to find the part yourself. Replacing the screen on this camera is not a straight forward operation, although it is not incredibly difficult either. There is potential to damage your camera though, and if you decide to do it watch out for the flash capacitor - it can zap you. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
