My gas dryer stopped heating it is a Kenmore 70 series. I am getting good gas flow but dryer will not heat.

Check the vent hose for kinks . Also check the exhaust at the outside to make sure it has good air flow to the outside . A dryer either heats or not . Due to it heats , the only possible problem is vent hose blockage .

Check the thermal fuse and thermostats first, then the ignitor and the valve coils are the next possibilities.

or bad solonoids on your gas vale
check your lint filter
and exhaust outside to be clear of cloggs with good airflow while running

Kenmore 70 Series

The most likely cause is a bad ignitor part number 279311. It has to glow to open the valve and ignite the gas. You should hear a loud click when you first start the dryer. That tells us there is voltage to the gas valve.

Hi!!! If the unit is electric your heating element needs to be replaced if its gas then replace the coil boosters located on top of the gas valve..Good luck..
