Copier problems I have a xerox 420dc copier. When you turn the machine on it states a scanner fault. I followed instructions to turn machine of, unplug, & plug back in. Nothing has changed. Are there any suggestions?

Make sure the scanner lock control is not in the locked position. It might be located right above wher the copy comes out. a round knob.

If you havent cleared this. What fault code is it declairng?

Sounds like its stuck, try removing the glass and moving the scanner assy. manualy. move it all the way to each side then put in the middle. turn the power on and watch it,if you still have the problem you most likely will have a bad home switch or sensor.
