We have 8 NEC Dterm Series i phones in our office. I'm in the process of trying to set up the speed dial keys however I am having problems doing so. I've tried several different instructions to no success and believe it has something to do with the 'Feature' key. Trying to follow any instructions that requires the 'Feature' key doesn't seem to work. On pressing the 'Feature' key the red light comes on, however when pressing any other key the red light disappears. Is this normal? Are there solutions? How do you set up the speed dial keys? Thank you in advance for any help.
Feature, Redial, press button to program, dial 1, dial the extension number, Feature to write and exit. ONLY IF the buttons are programmed as feature buttons, they may be just dead buttons, useless until they are assigned in system programming as feature buttons.

Thankfully I have found a solution that has worked.
A 'winking' (flashing) feature button indicates the station is in call forward - all calls mode.
To cancel this setting do the following
Lift the handset or press speaker
Dial the access code 4 + 2 (set as default)
Receive confirmation tone and restore handset or press speaker

These Keys may be set as line keys instead of feature access or not tagged as "feature access" in the programming, also you can only have so many feature access keys... 8 comes to mind but I could be wrong, some features can be programmed permanently onto a button in the main programming so you can free up some more feature access (user programable) buttons.

This works on the series E phones. It may or may not work on the series II.
Pressing the TRANSFER key will change the current letter to lower case.
