How to get the sterling pound symbol in K120 logitech keyboard

Entering the following keystroke combination will result in the Pound Sterling sign being displayed:
While holding down the ALT key, enter 0163 (ALT+0163).

This is known ASCII Code. (Pronounced Ask-key.)
A complete list of all 256 character codes is available at http://www.ascii-code.com/ .
All manner of Latin-based characters are available. Check it out.
To use any ASCII Code, choose the "HTML Number" and substitute "ALT+0" for "&#".
In this case, the HTML Number is &#163, therefore when entering text, type ALT+0163 (NOTE: "ALT+" means "While holding down the ALT key, press and release each of the four digits in sequence, then release the ALT key.)

Hope this helps.

Where is the pound sign?

Totype the Euro sign in Windows, you press the alt key+0128. As for the Sterlingpound symbol, you can type it by pressing the alt key+0163. You can have a lookat this site where it lists ways to type currency symbols.
http://www.fonts.com/fontent/fontent_home.asp?nCo=AFMT&con=fyti_currency

Please note that you have to type the 4-digit code on thenumeric keypad (do not use the normal number keys) while holding down the Altkey.

I have just bought a MX5500 keyboard and mouse. As a UK citizen I need to be able to type a pound sign and a euro sign but this is a US keyboard. Can you help

Unfortunately, a US keyboard is set up to send out keycodes for the US symbols. If you're using Windows 7, this information from Microsoft may be helpful. For XP, you can try changing your regional settings in the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options). You can try changing the keyboard layout and see what happens.

One sure way to get the symbols from any keyboard is by using alt codes. Hold down the ALT key and (on the numeric pad) press 0128 for the Euro symbol (€). ALT-0163 gives you the Pound Sterling symbol (£).

I do not have an Pound sterling key sign on my keyboard, make of Pc Compaq.

Usually the Pound Sterling key is Shift+3, provided that the computer is set to recognise the keyboard as a UK one. Control Panel->Regional Settings (in windows) is where you set the keyboard language.

I cannot get the qwerty keyboard on my HTC desire HD to display a pound steling sign, it only seems to have a dollar sign

Hi,

The Pound Sterling sign is available. Please follow these steps:
  1. On the keyboard hit the ?123 keyboard to bring out the numbers and symbols layout.
  2. Now, hit ALT to show the alternate symbols layout. The Pound Sterling symbol is available in place of # in this layout.
Hope this helps. If so, please consider rating this solution.

The pound sign on my Dell keyboard does not work. It types the # sign??

In the United States # is the pound sign (shift-3), in the UK the term "pound sign" is understood to mean the currency symbol, £, for pound sterling
