You are not alone! One user says ' had to call the customer service help desk because it took a while to set up not so straight forward'
It is 'discontinued' but you may get get support from:
1) Try an external monitor to see if it displays anything. If it does, the backlight in your LCD screen died. You will need to replace the LCD screen.
2) If it doesn't display on the external monitor, then the motherboard is bad.
(click on this link to go there) and you will see some instructions for various big tic watches and you can select the one that suits yours.
The only one that I could find that had a single button above the winder used it to cahnge the colour. Pressing this button for 2 seconds will change the colour to "alternating" and the same again will produce a fixed colour. Perhaps this will make the change of display you need.
Often with watches, you need to use a pair of tweezers to short the battery case to the chassis ((often marked "ac"). This seems to be a re-set function, although I have never found an explanation for the need to do this.
If all else fails, look up their contact details and speak to them about your problem.
The PRO-2021 has a, "Electro Luminescence" (lighting) panel mounted behind the LCD display which has likely died of old age. The panel is Radio Shack part number L-1976 (GE-85D-6067), but with your scanner being out of production for about 25 years, the part will be just about impossible to find.
Lets try to verify were the sound is comming from. Injectors usually don't "TIC" they spray. But the best way to determine where the sound is comming from is to use a stethoscope. (sold in Auto zone), place it on the the noisy tin and listen.
What you describing sounds more like valves.
The big tic has two batteries. The battery for the display may need to be changed and the circuit reset. You can then hold the display button down for 2.5 seconds to cycle through the display function.
Hello sandrah92, From what you are describing it sounds like you have a broken LCD screen. In most cases screens are repairable, but they are not generally covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. You might try contacting the manufacturer (RCA) at the phone number or web address listed in the User’s Manual and they may be able to give you a general idea of how much such a repair would cost and the procedure to follow for service.Alternatively you may be able to obtain repair services through a local electronics retailer, such as Best Buy™.
