I'm afraid this camera does not have any possibility to do manual focus. Not with stills and for sure not with recording video.
The only thing to help you focus on a certain object, that is not in the centre of the frame, is the focus lock. You have to point at the object you want to focus on, then press focus lock and than you can choose the composition you want to shoot. Focus lock occurs when you press the shutter release button half.
For video, the manual only says put the rail on the film camera and press the shutter release button once. The video will be stopped after 12 seconds. (or when you press the button again.

For silent mode the manual says o page 84: In the Setup Menu Options: Select ON to disable the speaker, flash, and illuminator in situations in which camera sounds or lights may be unwelcome (note that silent mode can not be enabled or disabled during movie playback). Silent mode can also be turned on or off using the DISP/BACK button as described on page 4.

I have the same exact problem and I found something on their website (Fuji) that says its a firmware update that is supposed to address "improved handling of playback of images". I am about to download it. The link is right here. My ps3 keeps freezing games and movies ive done
turn off you playstation....then turn it back on to where the red light comes on (standby) then hold the power button til it beeps 3 times....it should turn on and back off durin this time....then repeat that process again and a screen should pop up and it asks you if you would like to restore playstation or rebuild database....try the rebuild database.... The yellow and white wires you have are called RCA connectors. There aka media cables too. You should have male ends that can connect to the output of your TV by matching the colors.

I just need to need to know what kind of connects you have on you camera to record the TV signals with.

Fuji Finepix S5200- Problem with autofocus
Hi I had exactly that problem and in frustration left it in the cupboard for 2 months and then it worked again perfectly, but the same problem has reappeared, I have had a quote from Fuji in Singapore s$246 for new lens and it is only 2.2years old! Can sympathize and would think twice about buying another or even fixing it.
