Sunday morning it all started with the cycle signal beeping off on, off on......for no reason at all the washer was off. then around 130 am monday morning the thing turned itself back on, with alarms and lights flashing, I thought our alarm was going off, but it was the washer. I grabbed the useless owners manual to read " to stop a 'F' code, simply push the 'stop' button". Well that worked but you is the machine turning itself on and what is an F2 code...so I scheduled a repair with Sears, and they never showed up...now I know it all sounds funny....but this machine was 1600 dollars and it needs some fixin'. So this morning from 8-12 someone is coming over to ifx the machine. And they get to deal with the little lady of the house, because I have to work.HA HA. Oh ya, Sears in Nashville, where I live, asked if I lived around the airport????? She said "sometimes Kenmore products can pickup the signal of passing airplanes and disrupt the control board". WHAT? So I told her that: Odd when we moved from the airport/lake area several months ago we never had a problem and now we dont live near or in the flight path of the airport. She got quite. will update tonight.........bye. charles
The problem you are having is a well known problem with the Kenmore Oasis washer. The user interface board (control panel) has been known to fail on some models which causes the annoying beeping and erratic display. I work on these machines and have never heard of any interference from certain frequencies causing problems. If that were the case, it would make sense to believe that you would have problems with other appliances in your home (particularly television and radio). The only fix for the problem is to replace the user interface board in the control panel as the board is not serviceable. I hope this sheds some light on the problem and gives you a little insight on what has actually been a common problem (I've replaced 8 of these boards within the last 6 months).
