Not heating up

The connection to your iron is perfectly alright and also to the cut offf circuit but unfortunately there is either a failure of the heating coild of the iron or a link failure to the iron heating element. The last option to check will be take a continuity test with a multimeter, you must get a low range below100- 250 ohms reading. If not you will have to open and test the coil for continuity failing which the coild is open. Replacing the coil to the cost of a new irron must be checked out. Hope you work this out. Good day

I have a Rowenta Pro. Iron, model DE-86.1A with auto shut-off. It sticks on auto shut-off. I have to move it around for it to heat up, as indicated by the sensor light on the top.

I believe that is how the safety feature works.

Once the iron detects no movement for a certain period of time (the iron assumes you have finished ironing) the iron will shut of the heating element.

One you have moved it around, the timer should prevent it from auto shutting down for a period of time.
