MOst of the probs I have seen have been after one of the new version upgrades mine crahed IMMEDIATELY after uploading the updates from Assassins Creed. I have heard tons about this happening immediately after updating w/ other versions. So I will beware when I have to update in the future.

Its a problem with the latest download update. sorry to say but its a
job for sony as long as its still under warranty. just phone them up
explain the probs your having and they will send you a new (normally
reconditioned) unit out. sony's replacement service is very good.

Hello. When you put in a disc, listen for the disc to start spinning. If you do not hear that then the laser and/or the spindle have blown out. You will have to get your Blu-Ray player serviced by a pro or Sony. Sony may fix it for free. They know that the drives are failing. So call them first. I hope this helps! Good luck to you.
Can you be any more specific? is this a problem with one disk, one type of disk or all disks? What is the exact error you are getting? Are you trying to play a game, play a film, play an audio CD or are you using your PS3 as a Linux computer and trying to open a data disk? have you tried more than one disk?
