Question about LG WM1812C Front Load Washer
I had same issue OE error on my LG Tromm washer and the service manual was exactly what I needed. I drained and emptied the filter about a dozen times and could not get the error to go away. I did find some junk in the filter after each of the first few times. I even powered down twice for 30 minutes. I tried the spin/soil test mode to get the drain pump going and it would not work. I ended up pulling the machine apart. I followed the service manual and I checked the resistance (ohms) across the pump motor and it was OK (it is easy to do with a simple multi-tester). I even tested it to make sure it was OK with 120V power and it was. However, when I removed the pump from the housing I did find some junk, wood sticks, in with the pump impeller that got past the filter. I wondered if that could be the issue. I took the opportunity, since I removed the pump, to completely clean out the pump housing and the drain pipe. I blew through the pipe several times and put water through it. Lots of stench in the drain line. Bleach took care of it.
I was disappointed that the pump was not bad since that was an easy $50 fix. The next thing in the service manual was to check the computer board and that is expensive and hard to get. I decided to check to see I got lucky before I messed with the computer board. I got lucky!!! The washer works like new. My wife immediately noticed that the clothes are coming out less wet like they did when we first got the machine a year ago. Must have been the sticks in with the impeller.
Three loads later we are OK. Other than this we have been very happy with the machine. GK 4/1/08

Thank you very much for the service manual post! You have done a
great service for all who own this WM. You deserve a pat on the
back my friend. Thank you and best regards.
Shame on that Technician!

The service manual is at:
1. Press the SPIN SPEED and SOIL LEVEL buttons simultaneously.
2. Press the Power button, while the above condition. Then buzzer will sound twice.
3. Press the Start/Pause button repeatedly to cycle through the test modes
If it's pressed 10 times, the drain pump turns on.
