Question about Sony FWD-50PX1 50 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television

1 Answer

Sony FWD-50PX1 no picture

We are trying to program the plasma TV to use the universal remote of suddenlink cable and the screen just went black. There is a purple shadow that comes for a few seconds but goes away immediately. The remote can turn it on and off but there is no picture. We can hear the sound but still no picture. Is it worth fixing?

Try changing the channel with the original remote or by the tv's physical controls. It sounds like it has switch to an AV channel.

Hi, my tv just turned off on me. When I turn it on the TV screen flashes and turns off again. I have a solid green light on the power button but no sound or picture. Any ideas

HI:
There are bad capacitors on the power supply that needs changing. Also check the B+ capacitors on the inverter board also for leaky caps or caps that are puffy on their tops.

Is there anywhere to purchase a HDMI card FWD-50PX1

I don't think they exist, I would try contacting Sony directly first.

Is it imperative you have HDMI? I can recommend an excellent HDMI to component video converter if you are using an HDMI only source.

Too much green color

Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.

Sony KDF-50WE655

your issue is more than likely in the optical assy but make sure its not the lvds cable. when technicians remove the optical assy alot of times they will forget to remove the lvds cable and it ggets damaged.

Plasma flat display

in plasma tvs when the screen is all black the most common fix is your y-sus board. if your tv still turns on ( led in front of tv comes on) and you have all of your voltages coming from the smps board then i would get a new y-sus board.
