You may have to go to your routers ip address and see if you cant configure it to work or maybe your router can only support a certain number of wireless devices.

Check with your ISP to ensure you have the correct PPPoE details. If your router has a built-in "ping" feature, try to ping a website and see if that works.
Check on your computer to see what IP address it has, and if it's been "assigned by DHCP" or not - if it has, then it should communicate with your router. If not, then there's an issue with your PC and router communicating together.
Let me know how you get on, and I'll help further.
you'll probably find the router is set up to ignore ping requests, most are by default, for better results, try pinging a website and compare the results both with and without the switch. The switch shouldn't make any noticable difference to your connections, I use one and there's not perceivable difference in performance.
log into the router and make a note of any settings
1) try a factory reset - theres a reset on the back of the machine hold this for at least 10sec
then log back into the router and setup again
2) Look on the Dlink website for the latest firmware and update the router
goto this website - http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=WBR-2310 support resources button - gives the way to find the firmware
3) It maybe a DNS issue to test this - when it is working ping google.com
start>run(search on vista/7) > cmd > a black screen appears where you type the ping
you will get a reply from google with a number format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
now ping the number
NOW
when it disconnects try the two pings again - if the name fails but the number replies - then its a DNS issue - go onto your ISP (who provides the broadband service) website and see if you can find the DNS servers - should be two again format of numbers xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
and you should be able to enter these into the PC
google has public dns servers which you could try if you cant find ISPs
http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/it also shows you how to configure the IPs on a PC
have the same problem. even after assigning a valid address statically to the network card and connecting with a wired connection, i cant even ping the router
you need a cat 5 or better to work fine, and if you have turned mac filter on, please check/add if needed your laptop to the network, best is to use dlink given cd, with has auto-detect devices function inside, then adjust security setting manually
Here is the link to the manual for your router. Follow it's instrunctions to login into the router and from there you can run the setup wizard. If you feel comfortable in doing so, you can set the wireless configuration manually. Please reply if you need specific assistance.
