This may late but I wanted to let you know that for American Car such as Crown Vectoria, we have technicians in Saudi that can fix this tuning problem to a good 85% of the original signal strength. But for Japanise cars those technicians are not currently solving the same.
I know this exactly what is happening to me.

Some radios have the option to adjust sensibility when scanning the frequency, check in your owners manual if your radio have that option. If you can't find that there or if you don't have it let me know about the brand and model.

Ford crown victoria car radio

Hi well if you are english, go to a shop called halfords. All you need to do is purchase a new one.Because generally, audio players with radio, Cd, and tape cassette aren't veery reliable.
In pounds it would be around 100, but in dollars it would be about 200. If youre american, go to www.halfords.co.uk and go to orders tab. Type in: "Sony 134 SL". Purchse it if you want to. They accept american credit cards/debit cards. Also if you pay an extra $20 or so dollars, you can have it delivered to america
