usually there is a sticker below the select/start button. its like a barcode. and at the end of it should read something like this.....psp 1000 or psp 1001 (these are also known as the "FAT") psp 2000 or psp 2001(these are also known as the "SLIMS"), psp 3000 or psp 3001 etc.. (these are also known as the "NEW SLIM"), and of course you have the new psp which is the psp-go and they look totally different all together.

if you want to know what firmware version you have turn on your psp and go to SETTINGS>SYSTEM SETTINGS>SYSTEM INFORMATION.. and click "X" it should show you these information

system software -- the latest version of firmware u installed on your psp

nickname -- the name you gave your psp when you set it up

mac address -- mac address

I assume you have a customized firmware version CFW of PSP. Your PSP probably set back into its original firmware version.

To check the firmware version of your PSP, go to the "SETTINGS" icon and scroll down to "System Settings" then press X. The profile information will be displayed, then scroll down to "System Information" then press X, there the System Software of your PSP will be displayed.

If the version displayed is version 4.01, "version 5.03", version 5.50 and etc. then it was in the original firmware version. You need to hack again your PSP.

If the version displayed is "5.03 GEN-C (full), 4.01 M33, 5.05 GEN-B (full), 5.50 GEN-D3 and etc. then it is a customized firmware. Then I suggest try reformatting your memory stick and copy again your games in the memory stick.

I guess you must have updated your psp to more recent version while you were online. This i guess is one of the reasons why your psp games on your memory card is not showing on the screen.

You'll need to check the version your psp is running at the moment by going to System Setting > System Information, and you'll see the version that your psp is sunning on. Most versions above Version 5 might not play games on your memory card. You'll have to use umd's to play games.

if you want to change the version of your psp, you need to download new firmware on this.. you can go to the nearest gaming store where download of this firmware is safe.

NOTE: pls do not download firmwares on your own especially free firmwares from the net since this could corrupt the file on your Console.

To play game on your memory stick you'll need Custom Firmware installed such as M33/OE on your PSP, else if you play a UMD. The last CFw Update is 3.71M33-3.

What is version on your PSP? (on PSP Menu, move across to the "Settings Menu". Scroll down, select to "System Settings" > "System Information" and you should see version of your PSP.)

Here's at MyBlog, how to install CFw Guides. If this is the first time you've used the Memory Stick Duo, you must format it with PSP to create the proper PSP folder structure. then copy your game *.ISO/CSO into ISO folder, and DevHook folder to the root on your memory.

UMD is Universal Media Disc, its a small disc are used for PSP.  press the "eject" button on the top to open the disc tray. Usually the problem its not from the UMD, but from the console.

The first check the version you are running on psp, >> Go to the PSP Menu and move across to the "Settings Menu". Scroll down, select to "System Settings" >> "System Information" and you should see version of your PSP. If the UMD has a high version than ur console, u need to update ur psp.
