Yes,must have the original remote.This tv was made for the Disney Corp. by some small tv company,unknown to the tv universial remotes makers.That why they,don't have a Disney Corp. tvs codes for the universal remotes.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an original remote.

The fact you are getting a red light means you are getting some power, trouble is it could be any number of things causing this problem from power supply to high voltage failure. I have worked on a number of these types of sets that I can not give you answer, most of the problems that I encounted were high voltage issues. I suggest taking it to a qualified TV Tech with an estimate.

My daughter's disney dvd player wont play disney dvd's any ideas?

I would suspect dirt, either on the disc itself or in the player. The discs and laser head need to be clean to do their job properly. If they are too dirty to operate correctly the machine simply gives up trying as though there were no disc loaded at all.

when we first got ours i put a dvd in and it wouldnt play either then i noticed you have to push the input buttons until it is on dvd mode every time you play a dvd

11/12/08 My 18 yo daughter took her Disney "Ramon" dvd player she received at Christmas yo college with her and I used the code a moment ago <play> 1234 <play> and it unlocked it for her immediately.... try it it might work for you as well! Good Luck!

Is there an input select?

I can view channels but cannot view a DVD from the TV/DVD Disney Princess Combo. Only see static on the screen with no sound. I wonder if I need to change the input select to view a movie but cannot find a button on the TV or remote control. I have a 6 button remote which I am sure operates the DVD and another remote with 39 buttons I thought would operate the player as well as the TV. However, so far only the player functions from it. The buttons only have small pictures without words which sometimes leaves some question about purpose. This is a second hand unit. I do not have a manual. It did play movies at first. I think the trouble may have started when I programed cable channels. Any help will be greatly appreciated
