there is no code/s for your radio. the SY712 is the radio model number which is stamped on the front of radio. I do not recall any codes being needed. when we replace your type of radio, we give our parts dept. the VIN number and the radio number , which in your case is SY712. we get radio and put it in and it works. now with the NEW radios which have navigation build in, we have to jump into fire hoops to set those up, but with the older school radios, you put it in and it works.
You did not give the year make and model, so I will give a generic comment. The problem with going to an auto parts store to have the computer checked for codes is they provide that service in hopes of selling you some parts you may or may not need. I doubt the code actually said to replace the sensor. It probably said the data coming from the sensor was too high or too low. Depending on what the code number is, you may actually need a new thermostat. Trouble codes are meant to give the mechanic a place to start testing systems to find the problem.
