It sounds like the thermostat needs to be change. it is located under the top of the unit. Should be on the left side under the lid. Visit this link to get an idea of the part..http://www.ereplacementparts.com/thermostat-kit-p-847667.html.
I will assume that it is a pour over brewer from your statement, so the only thing that comes to mind is the thermostat not turning off the elements and the water is boiling and coming out the brew tube. You can try to adjust the thermostat first if that does not help then you might have to replace it.
Sounds like the thermostat needs to be replaced adjusted or the probe to the thermostat is covered in scale, and it cannot read the temp correctly. Remove top panel and check probe, if fine no buildup, follow probe line to thermostat and set to a lower setting, if same problem replace thermostat.
Could be lime on thermostat probe.When unplugged remove probe and crack off lime deposits.To access ,remove top lid and loosen fill tube nut for fill basin.Take out basin and thermostat is underneath. Also check heating element or hi-limit.Ohm to check with a meter.
