Is it worth repairing the red blinking light issue or just buy a new receiver for less money?

Test all your speaker impedances and check for shorts on both wiring and speakers. Use a digital multimeter. If you still have an issue, disconnect all speakers and test receiver. If you still have a problem, post a comment and I can help some more.

SOURCE: center channel dosen't work on 10 yr old marantz
I'd do some more investigation first. Have you determined if the amplifier for the channel works or if it's a preamp problem using the built-in speaker setup controls?
With this unit's great audio processing features you might be able to bypass a failed amplifier using the pre-outs and drive an external amp for the missing channel.
You could always just get a modest stereo amp (like a Carver M-100T and bridge it), or use the extra channel for another center speaker or a subwoofer, for example.

SOURCE: Marantz sr8001: standby light blinks rapidly,
Hello there Ed.
For anyone that has ever had such an issue with a MARANTZ SR series (6001. 7001. 7002. 8001...etc...) issue a question and I do HAVE the answer.
I could be just anything, or just the low quality binding posts used by MARANTZ for that.
Please describe to me in details how you've connected your speaker wires at the back, and give me description when and how did this problem came up.
Kind regards
Evangelos

SOURCE: How do I connect my laptop to my Marantz SR5002
Typically, your laptop would have a headphone output if you want to SEND audio to the receiver. Anything that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input. Get a cable like the one described here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2 and connect it into any available analog input EXCEPT "Phono". Turn the source player volume up.
You may have to find the sound controls on the laptop to raise the volume high enough for the reciver to use.
