If you want to receive off-the-air broadcasts (i.e., you have no cable satellite system), then yes, you'll need a digital tuning adapter. This set has only an analog tuner.
If you are on a cable system, you might not need a converter box, but it depends on your cable provider. Some systems still offer basic cable service without a box, and you can see what channels you'll pick up with the TV set for "cable" tuning. Other systems require a digital converter box or "digital transport adapter" for any reception. You'll need to check with your cable provider to find out.
Your flashing standby lamp indicates that the protection circuits have detected an over voltage or over current fault. Check the line output transistor for shorts or heavey leakage from collector to emitter. this problem may not be related to the transport adaptor but purely coincidental..
Access http://www.eBay.ca
and search for "MPC TransPort T3000 ac adapter"
and you'll find replacement units for about $20, plus shipping. Specifications are listed in each auction-listing.
I'm not clear on what you mean when you say wireless adapter is 'missed'. Do you mean you think the adapter is MISSING?
If you have a Transport X1000, you should have the internal wireless adapter. However, it may simply be turned OFF.
To turn on your wireless, just press the Fn and F2 keys at the same time.
Sounds like you are in dangerous waters. Most utilities have imminent domain (I think that's what it's called) and have the right to put their equipment anywhere that is safe and does not hinder your access. Asking for a box on a public board is a surefire way to get into trouble. If you are looking for just a digital converter try Ebay
I am having the exact same problem! I am a college student and do not have the money to pay for cable. We have comcast internet in the house and somehow, through some miracle, the cable is on.
Has been for a year. But now i have lost half of the channels. How did you solve it? is there anyway to not go through comcast?
