Benq W600 I replaced DMD chip to fix white pixels, this has worked I now have a flawless image but I get 'no signal' message so I cannot play anything. I have tried HDMI 1 and 2 and PC serial but I still get 'no signal' message.

I figured it out, I thought I must have damaged the motherboard by bending it during initial removal. I could not see any signs of stress or cracks so I went around each chip and large component and squeezed them on both sides of the motherboard to make sure none had popped off even slightly. I reassembled the projector and it works perfectly again. I reckon one of the chips had lifted of the board slightly.

What a relief. After taking it apart half a dozen times I was almost ready to quit, very happy I can play xbox again now.

Check you cables from your dmd make shour you plug all the cables in to your dmd bord sound like you not plug the single cable from tuner bord to the dmd.

Thank you. Good idea but the HDMI and PC inputs are actually integrated to the motherboard itself.

Suddenly, benq mx511 has white pixels showing up....multiplying every day...now the projected image consists of 50% snow.

It probably has the same DLP chip as my Mitsubishi television. The mirrors in the chip set get stuck and create the white spots. There is no way to fix this other than replacing the DLP chip.

I have a benq MP670 that i bought i China 3 months ago and i live in Kenya... it has white spot al over the place... but there are many in the right side of the screen... what can i do?

Sounds like the DMD chip is getting bad pixel failure. Most likely the chip will have to be replaced.
If the white spots are well defined and rectangular in shape when you get up close to the screen, then this would confirm the problem.

Just tell your friends that it's snowing in Kenya and the snow flakes are getting on the screen and ask the children to try and brush them off. Make the most of it until you can get it fixed, or get another broken one that has a good dmd chip and swap parts.

White pixels forming on screen and increasing in number. Slight distortion in other spots pixels are extremely bright but small.

This is a problem with the internal DMD chip which needs to be replaced.
Contact BenQ Service, should be covered under warranty.

White dots on screen

Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screen. Here's a video that will help you find where the DMd chip is located : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q Have a blessed one!
