Pantech C520 is a very temperamental phone and without the handset in front of me I can only give you a few things to try.
Pull out the SIM card and clean the contacts on both the card and phone. Lightly rub the contacts using a pencil eraser. Replace the Sim card and battery, try to make a phone call. If that did not work place the SIM card into an unlocked phone. Working in this phone then either your handset need to be reset (master) or is broken. Not working in the unlocked phone means your Sim card is bad and need to be replaced.
I have ran across this in my store. The last I heard from Pantech, they do not support transfer from phone to computer even with a data cable. I would call them directly and see if that has changed.
