2. Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle.
3. Select DRAIN & SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer.
4. Unplug the machine for thirty seconds to reset the Central Control Unit
5. Re-select cycle and press START.

I own a 18-year-old Kenmore front-load washer so I'm not sure this will apply, but here goes... My washer requires me to press and HOLD the start button for a few seconds before it will start. At that point the door will lock and the washer goes through its startup phase. I think that is a "safety feature' to keep from accidentally bumping the button and starting the washer. check the cleanout on the pump,most likely there's junk clogging the pump.

unplug it about 5mi plug back in that should clear it

Chances are due to the description of your problem, especially the noise you describe, is most likely a serious issue. If it sounded like a jet engine when going into spin, the rear bearing may be shot which breaks the belt. This happens over time from using too much sudsy detergent and it drys out the seal and binds up the basket shaft and pow, it blows out the belt. Forget about fixing it, its a gonner! (Sorry) If you replace it with another High efficency machine, READ THE DIRECTIONS AND FOLLOW THEM TO THE LETTER. Especially the use of He detergents only!!

I'm guessing the HOSE is the drain hose.
The goop is causing the drain motor to overheat causing it to report error. (luckily or it'd burn out).
Give it a empty load with nothing in it to see if it flushes it all out.
Just water.
See if it completes full cycle and check pump filter again to see if clean.
TIP. Make sure you check ALL pockets before you wash clothes.

POSSIBLE COMMUNICATION PROBLEM BETWEEN MAIN AND MOTOR CONTROLLER

After the complete wash cycle is finished, the clothes are still soaking wet sometimes. This is not an every load problem.
